A binary option is a bet on whether the price of an asset will be higher or lower at a set time. If you are right, you receive a fixed payout; if you are wrong, you lose the whole stake. Because of how these contracts work, regulators in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Israel and a number of other countries have banned their sale to retail clients.

This section lists platforms that offered or still offer such contracts. Many of them operated without a licence, and some were shut down by regulators. For each company we show whether it holds a licence, what clients complained about and how its story ended.

Before sending money, check the company in your national regulator's register and read what other traders say.
